Everything I’ve heard points to it being shoved aside to raise up Star Wars and Marvel.
Kinda both sad and glad it was a one off, a sequel would have taken from the epic ending of the movie, but at the same time, there would be so much room for new music and new stories from the grid.
But at the same time, I think they won't be as good if we get a whole universe and movie series as big as Star Wars. Last I heard, Tron 3 got the green light, and if that's even at least as good as the original, I think they should stop there.
@@MisterRubbernose I like them taking a slow approach to TRON. I like it as a simpler franchise. I was never a big fan of massive multimedia franchises like Marvel or Star Wars.

Also the best use of 3D in a cinema IMHO. The fact that the Grid was 3D (and a very subtle 3D too) where as the 'Real' world was 2D was some very clever cinematography!

I knew that when I saw the name "Tron legacy" such a great movie
The Samuel Kim, he's a digital frontier. I tried to picture his skills in music-making through the computer. What did it look like? Epic tracks, youtube, where the music notes are like fruitways. I kept dreaming of the music I thought I'd never hear, and then one day...he got in.

Some good news, due to Tron: 3 in the works and Disney+, There is massive talks of Uprising 2 being made.
The Problem with Tron: 3 though is the fact one of the key factors in the movie being made was Daft Punk being on board, if they were not on board then the film most likely won't be made nor will Uprising 2, BUT, From what I have seen Tron: 3 is already being made and has been for months so who knows, Daft Punk may have already made the music for the film, I mean what is a Tron film without them?? Though the music in Uprising was made to be like Legacy but was not made by Punk (least far I am aware).
In simple, I think Uprising 2 is already being made just like Tron: 3 and is expected to release mid to late THIS year, around the time of the long awaited Matrix: 4.
Tron 3 is under construction but due to Disney+ existing and being a massive hit, There are talks of Uprising 2 and maybe 3 being made.
That would be super f*cking cool and I would pay anything to watch how the series ends, been MANY years, come on already Disney.

I really like the look of the grid, and the overall plot is pretty good, but I personally just didn’t find it that interesting. That’s just my opinion. We do need a sequel though.

I felt like the movie's visuals compensated for its boring characters. I think that Tron: Uprising hit the sweet spot of characterization and visual spectacle though.

Tron deserves so much better. I’m so happy disney is trying to revive it to bring in a new fanbase with the Tron attractions in WDW and Shanghai
TRON: Legacy is lowkey my favorite live action Disney movie, let alone one of my favorite movies of all time! Daft Punk’s parting really upsets me, cuz I’m really looking forward to to TRON 3, and Daft Punk’s music-the sound of orchestral cyberpunk techno hybrid, enhances the TRON franchise greatly.

Tron Legacy is honestly such an underrated movie. It looks amazing, has a great plot, and has one of the best soundtracks of all time.

Tron Legacy was my childhood, I was 3 when it released and I watched it in the cinemas with my parents. I liked it so much that my parents decided to bring me to the cinemas for the second time. Ever since that day, every Saturday and Sunday, I will watch it... even until now... I just turned 18 7 days ago lol and I'm still currently watching the movie every weekend.
